The road to success is a bumpy one, and there are many obstacles that get in the way—some that keep people from ever achieving their dreams. But truly believing in yourself and seeing your failures as learning lessons that are part of the journey can totally change the game.
In a webinar for Intuition, Sabrina Sarabella, a business coach and wellness expert, went through some of her top hacks for developing a success-oriented mindset that will allow you to unleash your full potential and get to where you want to be in life. So instead of backing down when the times get tough, accept the challenge and use these tips to change your mindset for the better.
3 Simple Ways to Develop a Successful Mindset
1. Use Mantras and Affirmations
The more you tell yourself you’re going to be successful, the more you’ll start to believe it. “This is a practice of positive thinking and self-empowerment. Look in the mirror in the morning when you wake up and say something like ‘I am happy’ or ‘I am successful,’” Sarabella says. “Don’t just say it, but actually feel it. It starts to reprogram your subconscious mind.”
2. Surround Yourself With Success
If you don’t personally know anyone who’s at the level of success you wish to be, do some networking and find a mentor in your industry. Even if that’s following them on Instagram and learning from them. “Also, go read success stories about other people. You’ll probably find they’ve failed a million times before becoming who they are now,” Sarabella says. “It’s important to surround yourself with success so you know you can do the same thing.”
3. Don’t Be Afraid of Failing
We’re trained to think failure is always a bad thing. “But to be successful, you want to fail, because failure means that you’re taking action,” Sarabella says. “If you’ve not failed at all, you’re not moving toward your goal. Take those failures and turn them into success.” Instead of letting those failures get you down, she says to learn from your mistakes. Before you know it, you’ll be the one offering career advice.
